Being community based, we offer
a large patient load from which the graduate physician gains
wide experience in diagnosing and treating a variety of diseases.
The resident is instructed clinically by Family Medicine Physicians
and specialists, and didactically by local physicians and professors
of medicine from the University of Alabama at Birmingham School
of Medicine.
Selma has become the referral
center for the seven surrounding counties due to the wide range
of medical services offered by the city. These include obstetrics
through Dr. Timothy Marlow and Dr. Robin Stevenson, who are in
house Family Medicine Faculty. Other medical drawing points include
the excellent emergency rooms, cardiology, surgery, ENT, and
ophthalmology facilities.
