Alabama River

Welcome to the Alabama River, sometimes refered to as the common man's country club. When you spend a weekend boating on the Alabama, you can go from explorer to sportsman, to lazy hound to party animal, all in one day.

You can fish a little, cruise the river, maybe ski. In the heat of the day you can anchor and let the river rock you to sleep. Or you can buzz to Little Miami. Pontoon, ski and fishing boats pull up on the great sandbar, and you can catch the scent of "Eau de Alabama"-fresh river air, smoke from at least a dozen charcoal grills, and sunscreen.

Dallas County and the five counties which adjoin it are known throughout the United States as the "Whitetail Capital of the Nation." This area has more whitetail deer per acre than any other region in Alabama, and Alabama has more deer per acre than any other state. We also have our fair share of dove, turkey., woodducks, mallards, teal, widgeons, Canada geese and other waterfowl.
